Just back from the bum end of the country (Invercargill). Have to say it was a very good turn out for such a far South location. Got Gold and Best Aircraft for my 1/48 F/A-18C (apologies for the mixed quality pics). Best in Show went to this 1/16 diorama by Greg Blick Couple of quite nice 1/200 Macchi C.200s by Dave Lochead Best Vac (Geoff Prentice Memorial Trophy) went to this 1/72 Helldiver by Brent Cooper 54mm LRDG trooper by Randy Hampton Best Figure - Scratchbuilt 1/16 Gallipoli diorama by Andy Cairns Dave Lochead's Red Nurse Me and the end of the road (literally - where State Highway 1 ends; or starts depending on which Island you live in)

Some nice models there - your F-18 looks great. The NZ at war display looks impressive as does that B-58

Super photos Craig, and what an interesting selection of models, thanks so much for posting them here.
I really like that LRDG trooper, he has real cahracter. And the scratchbuilt Gallipoli trench scene is superb. It looks like a 3-D painting (which i guess is what a model is anyway).
Your Hornet is very nicely done. I'm sure we'd love to see more photos of it here. And the Helldiver swooping past King Kong's face is good too.
That 1/16th T32 is very interestingly displayed. Great stuff.

Thanks for the pictures, the Hornet looks to be a well deserved winner, good to see the judges got it right.
The New Zealanders at War theme looked darned good too

No problem getting there for you next time - Wellington next year (and Christchurch the following year).

That Hustler sure is pretty. I have the Italeri 1/72 on the bench at tha moment, and am scratching my head over which shade of metal to paint which panel, and which panels to rub and buff....
