The only time i get excited and look out the window is when i hear a radial or two fly over. When i get into my car to go home i always look to see if anything interesting is parked outside the yanks hangar. I find looking at the hosties as they walk to work is far more entertaining.

So Chewy, which airline has the best female uniform.
Nothing much apart from the lone C17 lately, although there were some Iroquois flying around on the weekend.

A few weeks back i got a free trip to Sydney and back by Jet Star to fix one of their engines. Went through the Qantas engine shop as well. The aircraft i was working on was opposite the A380. Close up they are big. CHCH to Sydney on a friday and back on the saterday, never saw anything but the back end of the airport. Some of the hangars are very run down.

One of the C130's is the one with the new paint job and the other two are new arrivals. Only saw them from a distance. At least two had skis.

those ski eqipped herks take an extra 1 - 1/2 hours longer than our herks to get there. Pretty sure it was 8 hours in the Herk I went down on. Th P3 would be less and the C17 even less.
Wonder how many seasons before the B757 goes. They were talking years ago about sending the 727 down, and the 757 would have a smaller foot print ??

Time down can vary immensely on winds, can often get head winds in both directions with only a day in between. About 7hrs is pretty standard. OP ICECUBE starts in a couple of weeks for the NZ C-130's.

Did a bit of a trip over to the apron during morning tea this morning as I heard some T-56's turning and burning. looks like they had bee doing some engine work on one of the Herks down for IceCube and they were running that up. Saw the Aussie A319 and the Atmospheric Gulfstream V that was on the news the other night. It was a nice Nor Wester early on then this big southerly blew through, rolling clouds of that big black ugly stuff. Plus I managed to get one of the new look ZK-FRE. still got a bit of green on her.

Graham has sent me a pic of it (F-HBOY) and mentioned it was on a world wide charter. Blue Line is the charter company. www.flyblueline.com/I will be coming to CHC on 14 Dec for some spotting and return to AKL on 15 Dec. If anyone is around would be good to catch up. I will be staying and spotting with Graham Weatherby. Thought I would try out the Jetstar service / experience. Colin
