Errol, glad you enjoyed.
I would certainly recommend a visit to this collection, as there is a heap more to see than what I have captured in these photos. For anyone who isn't familiar with the area, Caloundra is about an hour's drive north of Brisvegas.
I will post some more photos once I have transferred them across to photobucket.

Thanks Craig, the museum seems to have an interesting open air aspect. Is that permanent or is it closed at night? How do they deal with the bats and bird poop? Nevertheless it looks like a well-lit space with all the aircraft (some will undergo restoration I gather) looking very well looked after. Very inspiring indeed.

FN, it is permanently open, but my guess is they either have a good cleaning regime, or the bats and birds get the bullet.
You may also be interested (or maybe not!) to know that the Tracker they have awaiting restoration is a S-2A that was used for RAN crew training.

Tracker? Interested? NOPE. ;D Was the crew training in how to fly a wreck?

Great photos Craig. What's the small airliner above the Caribou picture?

Great photos Craig. What's the small airliner above the Caribou picture? Dave, it's a Nord 262A-32/Mohawk 298. Apart from that, I can't tell you too much more about it at this stage as I don't have the brochure about the QAM collection with me at the moment.

Nice images Craig. For anyone wanting more information on the aircraft there are comprehensive histories on the QAM website: www.qam.com.auBeagle, there's even one of your relatives in the collection. Kiwi visitors are always welcome. Free admission to anyone bearing an A-4. Rgds Ron

I'm sitting in Brissie at the moment - unfortunately so far this week time hasn't been on my side, and I think this will probably be the closest I get to the QAM this trip At least I've seen it while in the country - even if it is a few piccies on a NZ website (even posted by my namesake) thanks for posting these Craig.

Glad you have enjoyed them, Craig. Did you take a wander down to see the Southern Cross, just across the road from the International terminal?

Selfish bastards! ;D Landsborough's only about an hour from Central station by train, and you can catch a bus from there to Caloundra! ;D Happy Birthday too, by the way!
