An excellent visitor to the event this years was this wonderful replica WWI tank from The Vintage Aviator Ltd. of Wellington. And by quite some contrast this Chieftain main battle tank!

About time we had something that flies ... or at least a 'copter (Click on the picture for a couple more)

This needs some more tweaking, but I'm rather pleased with it.

Dropped in on the Sunday primarily to watch the air displays and (being that it was my first Cambridge Armistice Commemoration) was pleasantly surprised to find such a lot more on offer! The re-enactments were great and the selection of vehicles likewise. Noel did well in VH-PIG, it was a shame that we couldn't display ZKMAD but (as the photo shows) we weren't exactly in a position to do it!!

You could have taxied MAD round the field ;D
How long is MAD estimated to be out of commission?

Hope to have it back by Xmas (unsure of the year as yet!). In fact the only downside of Sunday was that I "lost" my sunnies (bl00dy expensive RayBans!) whilst videoing Noel in the Pitts...was in the model tent and rushed outside...sunnies were on my hat inside...and not when I got outside. So...if anyone picked them up...I'd love them back....could be worth a taxiing sorte in MAD!!

German equipment seems to be quite a popular theme.

Yes it always seems to have been since I began modelling as a kid. Seems odd, there is so little British and Empire models out there, which is why I gave up modelling armour as I have no desire to glorify or worship the Nazis. Anyone whould think the Axis forces won the war if you look at a Tamiya catalogue.

I suppose the mystery and technology surrounding the 'evil' German state of World War Two makes it interesting and captivating. When was the last time anyone modelled an Iraqi aircraft instead of a US example?

Know a guy who's APC Crew tried to drive one of those out the rear end of a RNZAF C130 flying at 500ft at an airshow during the 90s, as you can't see diddly squat outside with all of the hatches closed they thought the aircraft had landed and the loadmaster had given the green light to exit the aircraft-although they didn't actually move as the APC was secured in place unless the loadmaster releases it-think they managed to fumigate the rear of the aircraft.

Those of you who took the superb photos on this thread, would I be able to gain your permission please to put some of them onto our official Armistice in Cambridge website?
I know Bruce is passing his onto me, but there are others here that would be most welcome. Just let me know if you are happy for your photos to be transferred fro here to there.
Thanks.
