A nice "summer is coming" sunset tonight, hopefully a sign that better weather isn't far off .... .... also reflected on the dining room window (a bit of playing with the camera).

Nice photos. The sunset wasn't bad here either, I too was out with the camera.

Really starting to feel a bit like summer now after the glorious weather in the past couple of days. Even managed to get in a nice family sunset/twilight stroll along the beach from Milford almost to Takapuna (beaten by the tide). Choppy sea... A stray beam of sunlight poking through a gap between the mansions and illuminating a mini breaker... A familiar looking island lit up in the setting sun... Milford and (around the point) the East Coast Bays... The reason we got a bit wet... There are occasions when parts of Auckland can be very pleasant (only rare occasions mind you). Cheers, Stu.

Karioitahi Beach was very nice last Friday evening. We were lucky to have a gift voucher for one night at Castaways Lodge and the views out over the sea were breathtaking. www.castaways.co.nz/pages/home.htmThe weather treated us well as I am sure it gets very windy there at times. Colin

Colin, your last shot kind of reminds me of the cover of Neil Diamond's album "Jonathan Livingstone Seagull".

Colin, your last shot kind of reminds me of the cover of Neil Diamond's album "Jonathan Livingstone Seagull". For some reason I pictured a flight of Zeroes silhouetted against it ... then again, my mind works in strange ways (when it does actually work). Great photos, I love a good sunset.

Dusk last night and an aeronautical theme ..... Trivial thinking out loud - I wonder how many people report contrails in the setting sun as ufos? Hey! I can see Yurtle, from here, out the back, catching the rays and working on the turtle tan. I hope Yurtle remembered to slip, slop and wax........ Yurtle has been confined to barracks for a while after his last outing ... caught about a foot off the ground climbing the lace curtains in the lounge. Cheers, Stu.
