Hi all I am on hols at the moment so thought I would set a "Plane Quiz" for the group with some of the photos I have taken during the last several years. Yes I know, you can take me out of the classroom but you can't take the teacher out of me... ;D Have fun! Marcus 1. Identify the aircraft the gun is mounted in/on: 2. Where in NZ do we find this MacDak? 3. What RNZAF aircraft used this engine? 4. Now for some international questions: Identify the following aircraft? 5. Identify the aircraft, the air force it belongs to and the place/country the photo was taken?

1. I guess I'll go along with everybody else and say Seasprite. 2. Taupo. 3. Trick question? Perhaps it was not used in any RNZAF aircraft because it was an unused spare? 4. CASA C212M-200 5. BAE Hawk T60A of the Zimbabwe Air Force. Looks like it was taken at the African Aerospace & Defense 200 Expo at Waterkloof, sometime between 5-9 September 2000. But that's just a guess.
Cheers,
Brett

ANSWERS TO MARC'S PLANE QUIZ.... 1. RNZAF Seasprite, taken at Whenuapai in 2005 2. Taupo (Just about in the center/middle of the North Island for the non Kiwis on the list) 3. Not this particular engine but same would have been used by RNZAF Vampires. Pic taken at Ohakea Museum in 2005 4. Casa C 212. Photo taken in Tzaneen a small town about 400 km north east of Pretoria, South Africa in 1991. The aircraft was then part of the Venda Defence Force Air Wing. At present (2007) it serves with the SAAF. 5. Brett answered: BAE Hawk T60A of the Zimbabwe Air Force. Looks like it was taken at the African Aerospace & Defense 200 Expo at Waterkloof, sometime between 5-9 September 2000. But that's just a guess. Amazing!!! Brett, It was AA&D 2000 but the rest of your answer is spot on!Dave, hope you are getting over your shocking experience? Have a great day all Marcus

Interestingly, if you draw a line from east-most to west-most point, and north-most to south-most point, Taupo is nowhere near the centre of the North Island. Cambridge is. It's one of those optical illusions.
