Is it flyable from the rear seat? I ask because it appears to be blocked off behind the pilot's head.

Beautiful photos Gavin, I love the Spitfire underside shot especially. You can't beat that shape.

Is it flyable from the rear seat? I ask because it appears to be blocked off behind the pilot's head. Yes it is although the view forward isn't great. Bit like a Harvard I imagine. The original TR9 is a bit better from the back as the rear seat is a bit higher and it had a large individual bubble canopy. Interestingly the layout of this Spitfire and the others so configured was actually based on a Russian 2 seater in WW2! And the first one done was ML407 an ex New Zealand 485 Squadron Sptifire restored by the late Nick Grace and still owned and flown by his wife Carolyn. Baz
