Veryy nice selection Gavin, all of those shots are crackers. That Ryan looks fantastic, and that's a great shot of the Citabria too.

Brilliant shots Gavin! Love the cloud formation background of Harvard shot, makes it real poster material. Here is one of you and Andrew heading off to work. Cheers

Great shots, there Gavin. I especially like the way you choose backgrounds to highlight and/or contrast the paint scheme of the aircraft. The white Citrabia really "pops" against the green hills. Similarly the camo Harvard 92 against the pale blue sky
One question. In the first shot of the Miles, there is a perfectly clear reflection of the camera ship in the windscreen. Just curious, does that sort of artifact "spoil" the shot as far as saleability/usability goes?

Interesting question. Quite like to get the camera ships in the photo by way of reflection and I dont think it would cause any problems with magazines etc, probably adds some interest for some. That bubbled windscreen really lent itself to a photo like that and I have plenty of shots without the relection. Here is a shot a bit closer in and a loooooong shadow behind the Giles.

I really like that one of NUT's shadow on the water.

Yes, that's a really eye-catching photo, interesting to see the camera aircraft's shadow as well. (then again I suppose it would be a bit strange if you couldn't see it!)

There is old old joke about "Why didn't the British invent the personal computer?"
"Because they couldn't figure out how to make it leak oil..."
The close up of the Miles really shows its propensity to fling engine lubricant into the cowling. Almost as good as a Yak!
Thanks, Gavin. From now on, when I look at aeroplane magazine covers, I'll always be trying to find camera ship reflections and shadows...

Yes the Miles certainly did have a rather disturbing oil leak over the weekend, however this is definately not normal. You are quite right though about British machinery and the wonderful tendency to lubricate anything within a stones throw.

Yes a lot of aircraft engineers and pilots of round engined and British(and some others!) aircraft used to say you only worried when they STOPPED leaking oil! Great photos. WAR looks mean!
