I was dropping off some bits of aeroplane at Hamilton Airport today when an Embraer 170 ( I think- may have been a 190) "Jungle Jet" landed and taxied to the terminal apron. Unfortunately I didnt have my camera with me, but it was painted with light blue markings with something like "Sky" on the engine nacelles. Its a lovely looking aircraft and extremely quiet - I've always been a fan of Embraer products and I can see that these could be popular and suitable for NZ routes. Does anyone know who is flying this at the moment? what is it here for? the engineers I was with said it has been in and out a bit in the last few days. After a whole pile of logistics dramas I hope to actually move CKE to the airport tomorrow, so will have my camera ready should it come through again.

I was at the Waikato Aero Club listening to the tower on my radio and the E190's callsign was "Sky Air 194". The very Aussie sounding pilot reported 100 POB.
Sadly, I had no camera either...
Nice looking aircraft.
Is it a sales trip? Or a charter? Anyone know details?

It must pick-a-wife season for the brethren. They quite often charter airworks B737 to fly the males around the country to meet the must be wed.

We used to do them at Ansett, I remember we had to run the 146s with reduced tyre pressure so they could get in and out of Nelson with a full load of weirdos and not wreck the pavement. We see a lot of them back and forth to Tassie on the Dash - they fit in down there, Tasweigians are all weird.

Doesn't NZ have laws to keep scum like that out of the country? ? Thats a bit harsh. I have had quite a lot of dealings with these folk, and I must say that I have always found them to be pleasant and polite and they mind thier own business and never ever push there god onto you. Someone decided that they should be allowed to drink whiskey which had the effect of making them even more relaxed. When I was with Newmans (Buses,) we used to carry them all over the country. They started up a pie factory in Palm North some years ago and they were just the best pies. The factory was next door to the bus depot I worked out of, and you could smell the bloody things cooking all day. Jungle Jets. That aircraft (or one like it) is often parked at the old terminal at Brisbane Airport. Virgin Blue have some of them as well.
