A lot of the Tora, Tora, Tora Zeros were made from Canadian built Harvards, including the one Sir Tim had. Maybe you could put Zero wings on it if the US Texans don't fit? Actually the wings on those "Zeros" were only slightly modified from standard Harvard wings. Good idea though! I did some research and found that the centre section (that the fuselage sits on top of and the wings bolt to) is the key. Some slight modification is needed to get wings from Canadian production to fit a centre section from US production or vice versa. As an example there is a SNJ(Navy version of the T6) flying with one wing off a MK4 Harvard(Canadian) and the other from a T6F!

When we rebuilt NZ1057 at Gulf, it was missing both outer wing panels. We obtained one wing from the US, where there is a company specialising in T6 bits (everything is available). the wing was Brand New old stock, ex US Air Force (postwar) fully inhibited and complete with a star and Bar insignia. The other wing panel came from NZ stocks and surprizingly had the serial NZ1065 underneith ('65 was an airworthy example at that time, and still is) that was in the 1970s Grey - Orange scheme, so it appears as though the RNZAF machines swapped wing panels fairly regularly. as this project needs a centre section it should be possible to get a reasonably closely matched set, even if not to the exact model spec. (such details can be easily changed). You can get any part of a Harvard easily enough - for a price - although some of the IIb bits may require a bit more of a fossick... get a syndicate together and get the machine going guys!

That's the attitude Bruce - and second the enthusiasm...nothing is impossible - just time & money ! The 'T-6 Heaven' mentioned is Lance Aircraft in Dallas www.lanceaircraftsupply.com/index.html...well worth the visit - actually in my books - reason alone to go to Dallas...a ton of Harvard, T-6, SNJ stuff...and knowledgeable friendly people. Rgds Hvd1041.
