Picked up this old Corsair ammo box and thought it would be nice to fill it with 50 cal ammo. first time it would have been filled in the last 60 years.

I think its a 200 round box. im not sure if thats counting the rounds that would have been in the flexible belt between the gun and the box.

My cousin had one just like that but in near pristine condition that my uncle got from the Rukuhia sales in the 1940's. I think it went with all his other Corsair stuff to the RNZAF Museum a long while ago though.

Here's the Business end of my ammo box. The end of the barrel would have fitted into one of your blast tubes.
