Ive found abit of time to do a little work on the cowl, Ive added the air intake mesh to the front and filled the mold seams and sanded down, The propeller is one I have molded and have cleaned it up and sanded/filed the flashing off and painted, I thought it would be quite cool to put an electric motor in this ;D here are the results.... and another view Here is the how I installed the electric motor, just sits on a small block of balsa and cyno'd into place. The block is 10mm high. And a couple of wheels primered up

Pulled the first new and improved one part wing a couple of days ago, I think having this idea was worth it rather than the original 3 part concept, also can see the tips are part of it aswell as fuel tank straps. I havnt cleaned this up yet... This is probably the most complex part of molding and slowest. And the underside, I have pre drilled the holes for the oleo stuts in place and at the 2 degree forward strake, there are blocks of wood inside the wing which will provide extra strength And finally I pulled a Fletcher all flying tailplane/ Stabilator while I was at it. Progress has been put back a little due to re molding the entire wing and also the day job , I have the tail set up also, aswell as the flaps with the epoxy drying, so will take a photo when the part is made Thanks for looking Alan

Fantastic work Alan! Was hoping to have an update on BOF (I am a bit overwhelmed by this one) but I have only just managed to put together a unimog that I had a commission for (and possibly the most difficult and over engineered kit I have personally ever had to battle!).
I can't wait for this to be ready, I really can't!!!!
Until then I better keep going with the vac form one, if I can ever find the right tyre size!
Well done mate!

Ahh Mike, bet your glad thats over, Im not really keen on overly engineered things, its just a pain, Last time I bought a revell kit Heinkel HE 111 I found one side of the fuse was about 5mm too big than the other! really stands out on a 1.48 scale! I stick with Hasegawa now I use the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid) so applied it to this fletcher, Its a quite basic aircraft so no need to complicate it further, thats for modellers to play with after they buy it ;D

I've made a start assembling the Fletcher, First off we start with the tail end, Here it is just out of the mold and trimmed flashing and sanded with 120 grit down the seams then wet and dry. I accidently broke off one of the corrugates getting this out but have put a replacement on in its place with plastruct. Next what we have to do is cyno in a small block of balsa to the underside as is shown in the pic, this will provide a better mount for gluing to the fuse, make sure its sitting a little pround by about 1mm Here, I have cyno'd it to the fuselage and also I have attached the tailcone, the tailcone is attached via a tab sitting proud of sheet styrene plastic (I used 0.5mm) which is cyno'd inside the fuselage as kind of a band with excess sticking out. The tailcone then slides over this. Make sure its all straight, then I filled And here we have it sanded in, The stabilator just slides on, after filing it down gently to let it sit horizontal. This is just on temporarily. Here I have put the wing on to see how it all looks And might aswell put the cowl on aswell Some more images.... Next couple of days I will do the next step which is putting in the nose wheel mount and attaching the wings and cowl. Sorry the photos are a little blurry, had to get my partner to take them on the webcam Thanks for looking Cheers. Alan

You will definetely be getting one Zac, Now over the last couple of days Ive been thinking about the Airlerons, So Im going to ask you guys whats best.... or prefer before I mold these 1. Shall I do the earlier Fletcher 950 with the rounded airleron tips or 2. Shall I do the 950M version with the flat airleron tips so the D plates can be fitted? Personally I think the D plate version does look better and the vast majority if not all Fletcher 950's still current have been fitted with these. Nevertheless let me know guys Cheers.

Personally I like the endplate aileron myself (as per that last photo) Thanks for the update, boy she looks great! Do you think there will be much modification (not scared of a little work as you know) to do this machine? This one was parked up at Omaka and really appealed to me so I took several photo's of her. I am still getting myself up to speed on Fletchers. Cheers Anthony
