Did you know that a flibbertygibbert is the name for a female gremlin? To add to this, a Gremlin is the full grown male of the species A Fifinella is the adult female A Flibberty-Gibbert is a young female A Widget is a young Gremlin And a Wofflediget is an old Gremlin, said to feed on Widgets This all according to RAF folklore, as written down by bomber crewman Roald Dahl in his very successful book Gremlins, which Disney made into a film in the 1940's. Later the entire concept of gremlins was trashed by Hollywood with that 1980's film, good though it was it had nothing to do with the real gremlins of the RAF.

Sure was, you should read his book 'Going Solo' in which he describes learning to fly with the RAF, Gladiators in the Middle East, followed by Hurricanes. He was quite badly wounded in a Hurricane.

The book about his later career in Washington looks very interesting too, but I can't remember it's name! I saw it in Whitcoulls in Auckland airport a few weeks ago.
He had something to do with the campaign to influence the American policy on the war.
