Hey mate, I have this kit and am planning to do this as a Cere's. It has an amazing cockpit in it (a kit within itself!) that should not be too hard to change to a pilot/loader combination.
The main challenges in doing the conversion is the wing, which was lengthened and also had slats and large flaps attached.
Using this kit over a Harvard is advantageous in that the cowl and oil cooler are accurate, as are the wheels and three blade prop.
I plan to put some plugs together to make this conversion easier, however that could be a little bit off at the moment.

Not to mention the fuselage was longer as well on the Ceres. Mike mentions the wing - the key part is the centre-section, widened with a fixed undercarriage (wheels from the CA-18 Mustang). Looking forward to both your models! And Mike, before you say anything, the Ceres is just waiting for me to finish my three Spits currently on the go, and then probably a very large yellow monoplane

With regards to the wheels, I have noted that the tread and rim details do look accurate (well enough) on the Special Hobby kit, maybe their moulds were modelled on a post war Wirraway. However Red Roo do a resin CAC Mustang wheel in 1/48 which would I have recently tracked down some Cere's pilot notes, although I am not allowed to publicise them (I believe they may turn up in a publication in the future and I have agreed to only use my copy for reference), and this shows that the wing box was extended in the centre section. So on the wing front, it would be a matter of inserting a plug in the middle with a little bit of surgery to the kit wings. New flaps would need to be fashioned and slats added to the front. Would be a good conversion for someone who wants an easy topdressing project

An easy topdressing project would be a 1:32 Fletcher kit....if only someone would step up to the plate
