Fantastic shots. Did you say 'still weather', in Wellington? that must be a rare event in itself.

Not Wellington¡K but early morning at Lake Karapiro three weeks ago. My daughter had to be at the rowing early. Awesome time to be next to lake! Took the pic with my standard 18-55 lens with no filter. ¡§Sunburst¡¨ sounded like a nice name for the pic ƒº If anybody interested in some similar scenerey you might be interested in the following Youtube clip I put together for my daughter. Thanks Dave, I don't know if I'd say its a rare event, but extended periods of still weather like the one we have just had are certainly uncommon. There are two things Wellingtonians notice when travelling: absence of hills, and absence of wind! I'm not sure that Wellington has that much more wind than other regions of the country, its just that it tends to be more concentrated. We can often have a blustery northerly persist all day and then die in the evening, just in time for a sunset swim at Days Bay usually . Mind you, I've noticed that wind events that are lead story news in Auckland would barely rate a mention down here, either by the media or the populace. We don't even notice until we think the roof is about to lift!
