Great site! Have been watching from afar for a while but first time posting.
I am about to start Tasman Models CT-4B and need help in selecting a match for International Orange Fs 12199 as I am led to believe this is the correct shade to use. Can anyone advise me please of a good match, prefer acrylics but will use whatever to get the shade right. So far I am looking at using Testors MM 1628 as it looks to be close. Great pic a couple of pages back on this site of a Harvard in these colours, captured it perfectly, would love to know if anyone has the details on this build. Will post a few pics of my Kiwi collection soon.
Many thanks in advance,
Kozi

About to paint IO on a Hasegawa 1/48 TA-4J Skyhawk and will be trying the Hasegawa recommended mix of Gunze acrylics for this which is 70% H14 Orange + 30% H327 Red FS11136

I used Lifecolor LC22 on the Harvard I posted a while ago.

The name International Orange was changed when we started using 2 pack paints. This went to Scarlet Chrome

Have the Hasegawa mix of IO on my TA-4 now and I can say that their Gunze mix recipe is almost spot on to the FS595 fan deck I have. It was the merest hint of too orange (but that could have been my measuring) so added a few more drops of the red and it's a closer match than I've seen any paint manufacturers produce. Will try and get some pics later this week before I head down to Chrsitchurch.
