Here's an awesome website for anyone interested in the Apollo missions. Presently it's recreating a day by day recreation of each stage of the Apollo 11 mission. With great video footage, photos and whatnot. Enjoy!! wechoosethemoon.org/#

There was a very good documentary on Prime last night called 'In the shadow of the moon' about the Apollo moon trips. Worth a look if it replays and you missed it.

Yeah I saw that- just happened to flick on to it.
I find it amazing the will, the self belief, of the USA to achieve what they did.....it just took so much coordination and 'thought' to devise the equipment and procedures to enable them to do those missions.
It really was a 'giant leap'
(and I go between laughing and fuming at the conspiracy theorists who are popping up at the moment.....idiots)

What I find amazing now is that the laptop I am posting this message with probably has considerably more computing power and memory than all the computers on the Apollo spaceship (including the lunar module) and at Mission Control combined when the original Apollo 11 mission was undertaken!

Very cool photo. Conspiracy theorists take that.

You can't win that easily with conspiracy theorists. Isn't it obvious that these latest photos have also been faked by the "gummint" to back up the original fakes... With CT'ers, if you don't believe their theory then you are part of the conspiracy. Presenting them with evidence is hopeless as that's all part of the conspiracy as well. I've given up arguing with them.... I believe that the Apollo astronauts landed on the moon and that's where I'll leave this whole line of posting...
