That's not real money, its a revalued asset replacement cost made to look like money in the bank. All our money is handed out to entities that produce nothing but more debt.

There really is only money for about 1 & 1/2 services, but that's OK. If we really focused on the core purpose of the defence force and we could get by on 2, but I can't see the elimination of an entire service and related force elements happening any time soon.

We could give the RNZN back to the Royal Navy.
The country may not be broke on paper now but I think come the next round of figures may show different with Coronavirus stuffing the economy with almost no tourism, no-one eating out at restaurants now, exports being halted, etc. Buckle up - the disease may not be nearly as bad as the media makes out but the economic results could force a major slump.

Well it comes down to what the government expects of a defence force to be capable of, and what does the everyday kiwi expect the defence force to be capable of doing. What are the expectations of the NZDF? Why weren’t the Kiwi Skyhawks in the order of battle for interfet incase the Indonesian fought back.

This has all been gone over and over and over in the past on this forum. It solves nothing. The problem never moves forward to solution. So you might as well stop wasting time posting anything here. We lost the Air Combat squadrons due to government thinking and public apathy. We won't ever be getting that capability back, or at least till China starts basing their fighter squadrons here. Face facts and move on.

Why weren’t the Kiwi Skyhawks in the order of battle for interfet incase the Indonesian fought back. We were on standby but a lack of air transport capability (all tied up moving the Grunts and 3 Sqn to Darwin) meant we were stuck in Malaysia (the Malaysians ended up taking us home in their Hercs). It was another lost opportunity to demonstrate why we had/need an ACF. Same with the Gulf War in 1990/91.
