There was an advertisement for its sale in the issue of Classic Wings featuring its restoration! I for one would be very surprised if it stayed in New Zealand.

It has always been Bob's intention to sell the aircraft after completion, as it is part of his retirement funding plan. Sad though it may be to have it leave the country, its original flying life in NZ was pretty short, so in a sense it has no "ties" here. Hopefully a NZ enthusiast steps forward to buy it and keep it here though, its a beautiful little aeroplane.

I think that the reserve at the Auction a few months ago was 240K.
In my view, Te Papa should step in and buy it. Put it alongside the Tiger Moth.
