Here is another photo from the late Neville Jackson's collection, which shows Neville (I believe) standing next to the wreck of an aeroplane with a wonderful nose art on it. Here's the shot as scanned: And I have enhanced the artwork so you can see it a bit better here. The slogan says LITTLE BILL's. Is this an Avenger? Or is it the nose of something bigger like a Mitchell or Ventura or something similar? Could it be an RNZAF aircraft I wonder?

I reckon that's a Liberator - one with a nose turret (or used to have one). To me, the empennage above the window is the giveaway.
What a great collection.
