Really interesting photos Alan, they must be a great help to diorama modellers to guage colours and textures, etc. Good stuff.

I spent a few days in Normandy three years ago, and a good number of the small towns have similar "before and after" photos

Fascinating photos and a place I'd love to visit some day. By way of an experiment, I combined a few of the shots with Photoshop - a kind of haunting juxtaposition....
