Hi and welcome citabria, or is that airbatic spelled backwards?
I hope you enjoy the site. It has sure given me a place to exhibit my photos, receive constructive opinions and chat with NZ and Aussie members.
I did a few hours in a Decathlon out of Bankstown some years ago. Frightened myself silly trying to land the bouncy thing on its main wheels. I loved side-slipping in though and the limited aeros I did in it under supervision were entertaining.

What's your name? Peter Finlay
Where are you from? Sydney
How old are you? 63 but much younger now that I have met Svetlana!
What is your main interest in aviation? Is it historic? Airlines? Military... Wrapped in everything which flies. Probably biased towards historic and military. Photography of aircraft, mostly in flight.
Tell us about your background in aviation. Are you just an enthusiast or have you got more hands on experience? Are you a pilot? Do you have an Air Force Background? Or a civil aviation background? Dad was a SQNLDR in RAAF. Killed on a mercy flight Easter 1955 out of Townsville in Lincoln A73-64. A/C Crashed on Mt.Superbus in SE Qld. I gained PPL in 1976, followed by CPL, NGTVMC, tail wheel, CSU and retractable endorsements. I flew bank runs for a couple of years in training in Baron B58 and Piper (Ted Smith) Aerostars. Ten hours aerobatics in Victa 110/115 and 8KCAB (Decathalon). Most of my flying was in a friend's C172 VH-RLA. Some gliding experience including a first solo launch and circuit in country Victoria.
Do you belong to any aviation groups, like the NZ Warbirds, RNZAF Association, Royal Aeronautical Society or CAF, etc? I belong to HARS.
Are you an aircraft modeler? (Scale or R/C) I made many balsa models as a youth, had a couple of Frog rubber-powered, metal fuselage models. I have built two gliders, one of which is R/C. Only flown it a couple of times... too afraid of bending it.
What are your favourite aviation books? Paul Bowen's "Air to Air" photography triptych. "Voyager" by Dick Rutan and Jeanna Yeager.. I have a signed copy which my wife and daughter bought at the Smithsonian which is treasured. Chuck Yeager's "Yeager" and, of course, every issue of Aero Australia magazine.
What are your favourite aviation films or TV programmes? Sound Barrier, Battle of Britain, Top Gun, Piece of Cake, The Right Stuff.
Do you frequent other aviation forums? Key forums UK.
