Peter, I have flown CRG first on June 13th. 1967 so it must have been with the Auckland Aero Club at that time as I did not start flying other club Airtourers until after they were replaced with the Grumman Trainers, and this was not until much later.

ZK- DSZ which I first flew on 29 August 1974. Have a feeling it was painted differently to the photos shown, but do not have any of it in earlier scheme.

Look at that!!!
People - wandering around among aeroplanes! Fences no more than 3' high!
Where's the Aviation Security 'Service' when you really need them?

Here is a shot of CRG looking very forlorn and tucked out of the way at Nelson in July 1983. meanwhile at the owner's place the wings were having their day in the sun.

I've only had experience with the 160hp version, so I don't know if the 100 or 115 were really as underpowered as rumour has it. I went for an aero session with Brian Langely in ...CME I think it was at DF, back in the late 70's. I can still recall him bemoaning the fact that "this would be a good little aeroplane with 30 or 40 more horses" as we staggered and flopped around the sky.....

I found this article in the AHSNZ Journal, Volume 4, Number 3, 6th.March 1961. Called 'The Victa has Arrived' and it looks like Jan. 1961 was the time.

Victa Airtourer 100 c/n 71 became ZK-CGQ with the Auckland AC, Ardmore in September 1964. Colours were white with two-tone blue trim. This must have been a brief duty, as ZK-CGQ was delivered to the New Plymouth aero club 20Nov1964. It remained at New Plymouth for the rest of its life, until it was overturned on landing New Plymouth 30Nov69. The registration was cancelled 4Feb70, and the aircraft was rebuilt at Hamilton as a AESL Airtourer Super 150 ZK-DBD with the new c/n A551. At Fenton Street, Rotorua 4Oct1964:Airtourer 100 c/n 72 was the next one to be assembled at Ardmore, going to the Northland Districts AC, Whangarei, on 4Dec1964 as ZK-CHC.There is a record of an incident with ZK-CHC at Kerikeri Airport on 13Jun1970, pilot S T Harris, but this must have been minor as the Airtourer was passed on to the Waitemata AC at Ardmore 22Oct1971. It served with Waitemata until early 1973 when it was withdrawn to be rebuilt as a AESL Airtourer T3A with the new registration ZK-DLU. Registration of ZK-CHC was cancelled 23Mar1973. At Onerahi 4Aug1966:ZK-CHE was the markings allotted to Airtourer c/n 82. It was painted white with two-tone green trim and was delivered to the Auckland AC on 5Mar1965. They passed it on to Aero Engine Services Ltd., Hamilton 7Aug1972. There is no record of any upgrade at that time, and the next owner was the Northern Wairoa AC Airtourer Syndicate, Dargaville on 16May1973. ZK-CHE went south to the RNZAF Woodbourne Aviation Sports Club, Blenheim12Apr1984, and R C Williams, Paraparaumu took ownership 10Feb1992. M C Thomson, Te Awamutu is listed as the final owner from 6Nov1992 and the aircraft was finally withdrawn 9Oct1996 after an apparently incident-free life. At Ardmore 12Jun1965:ZK-CHB c/n 87 was another Auckland AC aircraft, coming to them in November 1964. It was also white with two-tone green trim. The Rotorua AC took over this Airtourer from 1July1965, but it later returned to the Auckland fleet. It appears to be incident-free until it was withdrawn to be rebuilt as a AESL Airtourer T3A with the registration ZK-DLO. Registration ZK-CHB was cancelled 10Mar1973. At Ardmore 7May1967:

Thanks Shamus, just out of interest, when was that piccy in Pauanui taken? I used to regularly hop over from Thames at the weekends or on a sunny day when I was hour building.

Can't say for certain, but I would think late 1990s. I only took the photo. Did not fly the Victa there.
