When did that Li-2 get airborne, the last flying example crashed and was destroyed in a high profile accident about two or three years ago, so it's nice to see another one is airborne.
Who flies the Me163 replica? That must be quite something to see

#22 Dassault Rafale - correct. The Li-2 is operated by the Goldtimer Foundation in Hungary. www.goldtimer.hu/The Me-163 is owned and operated by EADS. It was built by a former Me-163 pilot, Joseph Kurz, in the mid 90's. It is unpowered, and is towed aloft by a Dornier D0-27. The pilot relaeases over the airfield, and does several circuits and figure-eights before landing. It is externally similar to a Me-163, but internally and weight/balance wise it is set up as a glider. www.xs4all.nl/~robdebie/me163/kurz.htmCheers, Brett

I think the Me-163 pilots originally trained in glider versions didn't they, because once the rocket fuel ran out it became a glider anyway, did it not?

Agreed ;D ;D ;D To complete the puzzle, No. 11 is a "Black Raven". "According to Alexandre Voronin, General Manager of the “Black Raven” project, this mock-up will soon be tested in the wind tunnels of TsAGI. The design will be at the base of three further projects: an engineless cosmoplane, a motorised aircraft and an unmanned aerial vehicle. The varying specifications and the somewhat clumsy construction of the mock-up suggest that it is an example of Russian humour, a cheerful note in the serious business that aerospace industry is. At least it is “another way of looking at the matter”, as the Raven (âîðîí - voron) said in Hans Christian Andersen’s “Snow Queen”, a fairy tale very popular with the Russians."

My guess is it has been made by some larrakins as a joke. It's very shoddily pu ogether and the undercarriage looks very past its best.
