For those not able to attend, here are some photos from the Oldtimer Fliegertraffen held at Kirchheim unter Teck. The star of the show for me was Peter Teichmann flying the Hangar 11 "Hurribomber". A beautiful and professional display. The underneath, showing the hardpoints. Mustang Spitfire MS 406 FW190 Skyraider B-25 B-17 And for the Aussies...a Sea Fury in RAN markings... ...and one that got away, the former Murray Griffith P-40. In my opinion this show is better than Flying Legends at Duxford. There is a much greater variety of aircraft. The full participants list can be found at www.oldtimer-hahnweide.de/ (click on the UK flag to get the English version). Amazingly, most of the aircraft listed were actually there! Cheers, Brett

Mmmmmmm........Skyraider. Looks like a great selection of aircraft there. I have to say, the Moraine-Saulnier MS 406 looks like it was designed by five blokes; who only met to compare their notes when the aircraft was being assembled!

Does that Skyraider sound as cool as it looks?

Great photos! Is that FW-190 the same as the one which is supposed to be coming here?

Nope. It sounds better. The Skyraider shared it's display slot with the P-51. In the past I have pretty much ignored Skyraider displays, but this time I watched it and ignored the Mustang! I was a bit worried at one point that I hadn't taken any photos of the Mustang.
Nope. The photo is of Christophe Jacquard's French-based FW190. This is the first "customer assembled" FW from Flugwerke to fly. My understanding is the Omaka FW is the factory assembled 'prototype'.
Cheers,
Brett
