I am researching the above who served with 51 (HD) Squadron and 102 Squadron. He was taken pow on 6/10/17. Does any one know which pow camps he was in and does any one have a pothograph of him that might help me identify him?

Have you tried the National Archives, either in the UK or here in NZ? I'm told the UK archives have records of all WWII POW's captured by the Axis, so maybe they have WWI records too?

I am not familiar with NZ archives at all. I have his RAF record from the NA in London and this notes one camp, but I believe from other sources that he was in Holzminden.

The NA in London do have WW1 records and these have been weeded out over the years, some are listed but do not exist!

I did a search on the Archives New Zealand catalogue and he does not appear at all, yet they hold all NZ WWI servicemen's records, so he must have never been in a NZ Armed Force. I'm guessing here that he was a kiwi, hence your asking here?

Does Britain still have a Prisoner of War Association? I know our own such assosciation here in NZ has loads of records and can assist with enquiries, so perhaps the UK assoc. can help too.

I should have been more precise, he has an Australian address, but I thought that some one in NZ might have also studied Australian Airmen?

We do have ex service men’s association, but they primarily engaged in welfare work, making sure that the services are not forgotten and also a lot of social clubs where ex service men can meet and chat over a beer or two.
