I am planning to visit the Temora Museum Flying Days on November 28 & 29.
Are any other forum members intending to visit the Temora Museum that weekend.
I will also be visiting the Australian National Aviation Museum at Moorabbin, RAAF Museum at Point Cook and the B-24 Liberator Restoration at Werribee while in the Melbourne area before heading up to Temora for the weekend. On the way back home to Auckland, I intend spending a few days in the Sydney area to visit other aviation museums and airfields such as the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Nowra, HARS in Illawara, and Australian Aviation Museum at Bankstown.

Dave, I believe the Hudson will be part of the flying display. I will try and bring some photographs of it back for you, as I am interested in getting some close up photos of it for modelling purposes. The latest newsletter just arrived today is below. Looking real good!! Interesting websites quoted also. Andy look forward to meeting you there. I will be the old kiwi codger wearing a Commemorative Air Force Blue or Red Shirt with a couple of Nikon SLR cameras on straps around my neck and will no doubt be spending time in the Cafeteria at various times of the day to maintain the liquid levels if the present heat wave prevails!! Temora Newsletter received today.... The 28th & 29th of November are the last Flying Days for 2009, so don’t miss them! We have a jam-packed Flying Weekend planned, with plenty of action from Temora’s collection of ex-military aircraft, as well as some special visiting attractions! Two WWII Grumman TBM-3 Avengers, owned by Queensland businessman Steve Searle are scheduled to attend the Flying Weekend. Steve has a passion for aviation and especially propeller driven warbirds, and enjoys displaying them along the east coast of Australia including at Temora Aviation Museum Flying Weekends. Australia’s current Unlimited Aerobatic Champion, Paul Bennet will fly one of the Avengers at Temora. Paul has approximately 70 hours flying the TBM Grumman Avengers, and is looking forward to putting it through its paces at the November Flying Weekend. Click here to check out Steve Searle’s aviation museum: www.wirrawayaviationmuseum.com/Red Bull Air Race legends Nigel Lamb and Matt Hall are coming to take part in the final Flying Weekend of the year. Nigel Lamb is traveling from the UK just to fly the Museum’s Spitfire throughout the weekend. Nigel said, “Aside from getting an update on developments at Temora Aviation Museum, It'll be fantastic to participate in an event alongside Matt Hall rather than as a competitor in the Red Bull Air Race. Matt has had an exceptional debut year. To have finished third overall is a truly amazing result. Matt has set the bar very high and left many of us with plenty to do next year.” Click here to check out Nigel’s website: www.nigellamb.comMatt Hall flew here during the Museum’s October Flying Weekend and enjoyed it so much that he is returning on the 28th and 29th of November to fly the WWII P-51 Mustang. It is planned that these two race pilots will fly in formation during the weekend displays. Both pilots were trained to fly military fighter jets before tackling Competition Aerobatics, Warbird flying and now Air Racing. Visitors to the Museum will have the opportunity to meet them during Ramp Talk which offers the occasion to see the aircraft up close, talk with the pilots and have autographs signed. Click here to view Matt's website: www.matthallracing.comThe action packed flying displays planned for the 28th and 29th will also involve the world renowned vintage aircraft from Temora Aviation Museum including the RAAF CA-27 Sabre, Supermarine Spitfires Mk VIII and Mk XVI, CA-16 Wirraway, CA-13 Boomerang, Gloster Meteor F.8, and the Handley Page English Electric Canberra amongst many others! On Sunday 29th our visitors will be treated to a guest appearance of the Canberra City Band as they perform period music at several intervals during the day. The Canberra City Band visits the Museum once a year to perform their popular arrangements for our visitors. Make plans now to visit the last Flying Weekend for November! Gates open at 10:00 am, flying commences at 11:00 am and continues through until around 3:00 pm. Ramp Talk continues through until 4:00 pm, when the Museum closes. Food and refreshments will be available on site. And please remember to bring along a light fold-up chair as well as your sun protection. Hope so, Dave, re the Hudson. She had engine problems so missed the October show. Completely understand your 'star of the show' comment - she's my favourite too.

Cheers, Dave, they turned out better than I expected but still some work to do.
The Avenger '309' is the former 'Plonky' isn't she?

Plonky became "Georgia Peach" with Randall Macfarlane, if this is the same aircraft.

I believe it is, Dave.
Interesting day today. Went to the end of the runway and met a mate there. We were the only two photgraphers up there for ages and also noted the lack of spam cans in the GA parking area. More arrived just before the show - and then some held it up 20 minutes into it by arriving late and aborting a landing. The show opened with the Kittyhawk and then carried on fairly normal. The Canberra and Hudson were no where to be seen and the Boomerang didn't fly until after the official end of the show. Just had a really odd feeling to the whole day and then my camera started playing up ex-Plonky did a really low pass. Still managed some decent shots but also stuffed a few up that I shouldn't have. Ah well, there's always the January show.

The Spit and Mustang duo was the best and tightest flying I have seen. They were superb.

Great photos, and nice to see so many ex-NZ aircraft being appreciated. As Temora is run by the guy who owns all the Westfield malls, and since virtually every mall in NZ seems to be owned by him now, a ot of NZ money must go into the collection there. It's time they did a road trip and brought a few of the Temora aircraft across the ditch for their kiwi sponsors to see I reckon. The Hudson, Meteor and Canberra would be cool to see visit here.
