The police say the accident happened at around 4pm when the glider crashed into an electric fence on a paddock in Kaikahu Rd. The pilot is trapped in the glider and emergency services are presently making efforts to free him. Police said the pilot's injuries were unknown at this time. "It is believed that he may also have been electrocuted," the police statement said.

Location: Kerepehi District: National Alerts 24 November - 5:41pm At about 4pm today, a glider has crashed into an electric fence on a paddock in Kaikahu Rd in Kerepehi. The pilot is trapped in the glider and emergency services are presently making efforts to free him. It is believed that he may also have been electrocuted. His injuries at this time are unknown. A glider pilot is in a serious but stable condition after he crashed into an electric fence on the Hauraki Plains.
Police say the accident happened at around 4pm when the glider crashed into a paddock in Kaikahu Rd.
The pilot was trapped in the glider and emergency services had to free him before he was flown by helicopter to Waikato Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
He was suffering neck injuries and had also received an electric shock after hitting the fence.
