Not NZ's first Ag Beaver, the 3rd actually. Rural had one and James had one before AZB which was Lawson Field's first one. AXK was Rural's first one and AVL went to James. Both crashed in the 1950's, both fatal.

That is Whakatane Dave- It really is nice data isn't it? The digital terrain model I created from Lidar data (a very accurate/dense laser based air-ground measurement system), then draped some high resolution aerials over it and annotated it with the trees/buildings etc.
I was able to use this data since I worked at Environment Bay of Plenty for a number of years.....trying to get similar data from other councils is often like trying to get blood from a stone. This is a real shame IMO....especially since it is public data, paid for by the public

I thopught it might be Whakatane, but wasn't certain, as I've never seen the real place from the air either. My other guess was Ohope.
