There's plenty of room in the rear cabin (sit's 5 comfortably)
Tall pilots will find the front a bit tight though

Oh I don't know Calum, I'm 6ft 2 and I fit Ok in the front of an LUH. Width is an issue though. One thing I like about the AW139 is the room up front for bags and charts, specially if you install the extended center console. The 109 is like a sports car, no storage! I think the AW169 will surpass the 109 for a small military helo when it comes out. Looks like a 139 that has been washed too much and has shrunk. I'm sure once the RNZAF techs get their heads around how Agusta do things, they'll enjoy working on them. I've now been 6 years on the AW139 and I don't want to go on to anything else, and I certainly never want to work on a 412 ever again!!!

Looks like those boxes your pre-assembled new kitchen arrives in....
Although...given that it was delivered by McIntosh's...it's probably supplies for a lolly scramble.

Ohakea's new gate is flash. Even the plants seem to be standing to attention.
It's great to see the arrival of the first helicopter. Someone's kids might get a great new playhouse from that packaging too.

Ohakea's new gate is flash. Even the plants seem to be standing to attention. Wait till the Autumnal winds start blowing, that will fix them Perhaps we should hold on to them in case of a warranty claim.

Graham Graham , Regarding the height, this was mentoned on the comments from some the RAN aircrew here. The AW-139 is a nice helciopter though (bigger than a 109 IIRC). The local rescue services here have one Try dealing with Eurocopter if you want a some experience in frustration

It's like that episode of James May's Toy Story where they got a 1/1 scale Spitfire kitset to put together, only better.

Very very exciting! Great news for the guys and gals who get to fly them first in NZ.
It is a great machine to look at, Im going to have to track down a model kit and finish it as one, so many lumps and bumps. It may be a boring colour, but it looks neat on her.

The colour is not as boring as the name. They need to find a proper name for NZ service like hey did with the MB339CB. I propose the Augusta-Westland Pelorus, as it looks like a dolphin to me and Pelorus Jack was a world famous kiwi icon.

The RNZAF had a local name for the Macchi?

Yes, Macchi. It was only the Aermacchi MB339CB before they decided to christen it, and whoever made the decision said it harked back to the history when the RNZAF pilots used to duel with Macchi fighters in WWII. There was an article in RNZAF News at the time explaining that it was RNZAF policy to always have a name for its aircraft types rather than just a designation. I hope the policy still holds today.
