Last months NZ Aviation News says joyrides in Fox Moth and Dragon will be available at Matamata. Can anyone confirm this please?

I have added this to the calendar, although it's quite short notice unfortunately.

Lovely collection of images there, Marcus. Thankyou for sharing them with us. That's the nice thing about these smaller air shows; you get a chance to just spend the day chatting and relaxing whilst surrounded by some interesting aircraft. There's no huge queue for the toilets/food/drink, no having to walk huge distances to view the aircraft on static display, and no hassles trying to find a good spot on the display line. And you also get to see some aircraft types that you normally wouldn't see (or maybe notice) at a bigger show.

As Marcus says, this has been the most enjoyable airshow of the season so far. Apart from the weather and the aircraft attending, the organization was efficient and low key. Visiting aircraft were parked in the same compound as motor vehicles (At last - Someone is listening to me!) and most of the display aircraft were parked in an area where the public could examine them close up. The show was promoted as "Matamata Air Show and Carnival" and there were plenty of family friendly activities at the rear of the site, not right on the crowd line - Tauranga, are you listening? All in all, the sort of event that SAA used to be. Lots of displays by sport aviation aircraft, with late-in-the day visits from a Harvard, the Nord/Bf108 and a flypast by the Mustang ZK-TAF on its return from Rotorua. A couple of new aircraft for me were the Zenair CH701 STOL ZK-SCC - these always remind me of pug dogs the SkyStar Kitfox IV Speedster ZK-JRK, well flown by Peter Ryan and a new possibly yet unfinished Titan T51 Mustang in US colours Display aircraft included David Phillips in his Tiger Moth ZK-BEN aerobatic routine and the Gyrate team from Tauranga in their Eagles ZK-KIW and ZK-RSL Low level runs were carried out by the Gippsland GA200C Fatman ZK-FMC and Fletcher Fu-24-950M of Airfarm The Nord 1002 ZK-WFI did it's 'chase the Harvard and shoot it down' routine, this time the victim was ZK-ENJ while AgCat ZK-RTA was active with joyrides for most of the day Great to meet up with you again Marcus.

Great shots Peter. I especially like the shot of Dave in ZK-BEN. Thanks for the gen on that Kitfox's pilot. It's got a spectacular colour scheme, hasn't it?
Did you realise that the Me108 is a genuine Messerschmitt built example? It was rebuilt by the Messerschmitt-run Nord factory after a ding, but it wasn't built by Nord.

...and ZK- DAK swept down on a ' high speed low approach and overshoot 'on her way back to AR from RO... ...we always want to show our support for all our NZ provincial airfields...
