Hello, Seeking information on Kenneth MacIndoe Mackay who disappeared on a mission over Holland on the night of 21/7/1944. Flying was in his blood as his father had tried to set up the first national wide airline company in NZ but was stymied by the red tape.
Thank you. Regards Allan

Hi Dee, I haven't received a reply from Glen Turner, but the information received from Errol was most interesting and appreciated. However the secretary Kevin of Friends of 75 (NZ) Squadron - contact details would be useful. Many thanks Chris

Hi Allan
I know Kevin wont mind me putting his email address on ;D here as its on the RAF Register of Associations anyway: kevinfking@talktalk.net If you are coming over to the UK dont hesitate to contact me as I live quite near to Mepal and know where to take you. By the way I will check my Runnymede photos for your crew member.

Hi my name is Sandra and I am looking for some information on my uncle William Henry Garvin who was in the RAF Volunteer Reserves 75 Squadron. He was killed in action on 25 July 1943 aged 20. If anyone knows anything about this fateful flight or can tell me if the plane has ever been found it would be much appreciated.

We've already heard from Errol who is the acknowledged authority on Kiiw aircrew losses. A site that is very good for RAF aircrew inquiries in general is www.rafcommands.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1 Errol posts on there as well, but there is a very wide range of knowledge & information available for this kind of enquiry. Steve.

As William Henry Garvin was not in the RNZAF then he is not in Errol's books, hence the lack of responce. All I can add is his entry on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site here www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=1270667And reiterate what Steve said about trying the RAF Commands forum. Good luck.

I gather from Glen we have lost another of our wartime 75ers. I spoke to this particular young (at heart) man at the reunion and he was very patient and typically Kiwi gracious with me despite my lots of questions. RIP all 75ers of any era who are not now with us. Dee

On an emotional but uplifting 75 (NZ) Sqn note I attended at the weekend the unveiling of a monument to Wellington X9976 at Soarremorre in Holland. The monument was unveiled by Lorraine Gray (daughter of the second pilot who was from New Plymouth) and 2 school children from the local primary schools (who learn about the history of this aircraft as part of their curriculum). The Ambassador from New Zealand was there as 4 of the 6 crew were from NZ. Each of the crew members had relatives there as well as Lorraine. I would like to thank the people of Akkrum and Grou (especially the Soarremorre Committe) etc who organised and hosted this event and made it day to remember. PS I have done a report about this with more pics. Please pm me if you would like a copy. Attachments:
