I went for a flight in the Catalina this afternoon. We were very lucky that the flight was also a part of a fly over at Hobsonville for a reunion. 5 Harvards, the Kittyhawk and the Trojan were also part of the fly over. We did two passes over Hobsonville and a very low pass down the main runway at Whenuapai. On the way back to Ardmore the Harvards joined up in formation with the Catalina. As most will know the Catalina flights are private cost sharing flights. As such they cant advertise these flights. I can highly recommend a flight in the Cat. A half hour flight around the city is $130 and is worth every cent. There are only two Catalinas in the world that the public can fly on, the other is in Holland. Here are some of my photos from today. Not an aircraft you would normally see in close formation with a Catalina. Brett Emeny in his Jetranger flew in very close formation as we were on finals.

Great photos and my " on behalf of" questions from another post answered I wholeheartedly agree with a flight on the Cat being well worth it - I was fortunate enough to have a similar flight some years ago and it's one that I'll not forget in a hurry (for good reasons). Cheers, Stu.
