We did a transit Nowra - Adelaide - Perth while at 2 Sqn and arrived at Pearce at night with no support as the deployment Herc was in lag from Edinburgh. With no support, the swing off the probe was the "approved" method for getting out of the single seater. My course mate didn't manage the most graceful of dismounts, hit the ground hard and managed to stuff his leg and managed to get himself a week off flying! So much for the double back flip with a pike and half somersault.
There was an Aussie Hornet pilot how went to slide off the wing after parking at a remote OLA at Tindal and hooked himself on a missile rail by his g-suit. He was on there for quite a while before help arrived to unhook him.
Job's not over until the debrief is complete and you're in the crewroom!

Gotta love the sound of an A4 taxiing. Very distinct and full of memories.
