Here is a press release reproduced with the permission of Graham Orphan of Classic Wings, via James Orphan BUTCHER BIRD ON TRACK FOR CLASSIC FIGHTERS 2011.The 'Chariots of Fire Fighter Collection' Fw190A-8 was moved from its Gammelsdorf workshop to Manching air base late in June in preparation for test flying, and then shipping to its new home at Omaka, New Zealand. This was the first of the late production run of 'Butcher Birds' to be completed by Claus Collings' FlugWerk GmbH and made its first flight in mid 2004, the first time and aircraft of this type had been seen airborne since the war era. More recently the aircraft, now christened 'Storm of Steel', has undergone an extensive program of refinement, including some alteration to accommodate taller pilots this involving moving the pedals forwards, lowering the seat, and producing a slightly bubbled' canopy profile much like those used on later Fw190s and TA152s. With the aircraft completed it is now about to under go taxi trials and then an extensive test program will follow with a view to having it shipped to Omaka, reassembled and test flown there in time to make its public debut at the Classic Fighters airshow next Easter Photo by Frank Hohmann via Classic Wings magazine.

The Spitfire is very much a backburner project I believe, with the Mossie, P-40B and Tr9 Spitfire all being worked on right now.
The thought of seeing the Mossie and FW190 together is awesome, fingers crossed.
