I have just heard that former RNZAF fighter pilot Peter Norman passed away yesterday. Peter wrote several books including 'Tiger Moths and Butterflies' about his RNZAF career, and also a small book on No. 14 Squadron at Masterton. He lived in Greytown and was very active in the preservation of aviation history in the Wairarapa.
RIP

Peter was my father and patron of the SVAS. The very kindly put up a three ship fly-past for his funeral and has registered their Chipmunk as ZK PTN in his honour.
Thank you for recognizing his passing on your board.

You will be intersted to know that Peter's great friend and the other living member of 24 Squadron Jack Newbold died the day after Peter.

Welcome to the forum Tim. I had the pleasure of corresponding for a bit with your father a few years ago when I bought his book on No. 14 Squadron at Masterton from him, and I also very much enjoyed his "Tiger Moths and Butterflies".
I spoke with Jack last year on the phone and he was a nice chap. I had hoped to get down to Wellington someday to interview him for my Corsair pilot film but this was not to be.

We will have to talk about your Corsair pilot film on Wednesday as my little project idea has a small Corsair component.........RNZAF ones too!
