Tamiya makes the LRDG version of the Chevy 30CWT truck, but does anyone make a conversion to install the cab roof and doors to make it a standard type truck, as apparently used by the NZEF in North Africa and Italy I believe?

I'm not aware of a conversion kit but cross kitting is easy I made this RNZAF Chev many years ago. Tamiya bonnet and extended chassis joined to Italerei GMC cab and wheels with scratch built cargo deck and rebuilt radiator grill.

Hey that worked out great. I have one of those GMC kits in my stash for spare too, as I ordered one and got two a few years back. That might be a great way to go i think. Cheers for the tip.
Nice model too.

You posted the two subsequent posts while I was getting round to a reply. I believe the Air Force Museum recently recovered one of those ops room/signals type rear cabs off a Chevy truck from where it was being used as a batch, with the prospect of restoring it. I think it might actually be the one in your middle photo.
