That is impressive! What program will you run with it? Falcon?

You and Sean Galbraith will have to get together on-line for a dogfight with his A-4K (Kahu) simpit!

She's running on Falcon4. Triple projectors and all. Sean helped with a few bits. Thanks. But I think the old A4 is no match to the Fighting Falcon ;-)

Thanks. But I think the old A4 is no match to the Fighting Falcon. Many Indonesian, Thai and Singapore F-16 pilots made the same assumption and came away with their tails between their legs and a much healthier respect for the Kahu Skyhawk! ;D

Indeed- I can't remember the numbers off hand but when my brother (barnsey) visited to pit the A4K against the Singaporean F-16s (?- Would have been Vanguard in 2001?) I think it was around an 70-80 win rate? Certainly, the hardest part was getting close...and then it was mostly bad news for the F16 crews.

Like a lot of things, the pilot operating the machine plays a very large part in its success, or otherwise. The high success rate we had against the F-16 was fighting against the Royal Thai Air Force. But that was against their F-16As, their relatively easily defeated Aim-7 and Aim-9P4 vs our Aim-9L, and probably most importantly: they were coming out of the Asian economic crisis where they had suffered a large cut in flying hours and training.
Compare that to the RSAF with their late model F-16C & Ds, AMRAAM, ECM and their continued exposure to high level training and doctrine - the odds certainly weren't as favourable to us!!

I had a crack in the F-16 simulator in Bodø in Norway at the Luftfartsmuseum there. Was a hoot but bloody difficult (hardly surprising) even with help.
I was very lucky with my job in Bodø when I lived there as through work (a Danish bloke had come up to film them) I got a tour of Bodø air base, taken around 331 Sqn's F-16s and on the flight line for their morning sortie.
My office window looked right out over the main runway in Bodø, so every morning and afternoon I was treated to watching F-16s taking off and landing. Bloody brilliant!
