Does anyone happen to have a list of all the RNZAF numbered Servicing Units (those that were attached to or supported operational squadrons) with details such as: - Date Formed - Place Formed - Stations unit was posted to, and posting dates - Squadrons the SU was attached to, and dates of Squadron attachment changes - Numbers of personnel - Commanding Officers
I have some details here and there, mainly for the Bomber SU's, but I don't have a definative list and I think it would be handy to have one as a complete reference source. If there are none out there perhaps we can offer details here and I will compile them into a reference for the website. Thanks.

That sounds like a great idea Dave, I know that this is something I would like to have as a research tool. I'm only new to researching activities at RNZAF station Gisborne during the war but I have already come across two more SU's that know alive in Gisborne knew about 11 SU from what I can tell they where a bomber SU most likely B34s and 25 SU on TBFs I found some photos of some of the 25 SU guys and there TBFs The nose art is of particular interest as there are no records of this aircraft but looking at the top left of the cowls its a TBF-1 as you can see the indentation for the forward fire 30 cal so it can be only one of six aircraft and IIRC NZ2506 had "Clarabelle Cow" and NZ2504 had "Popeye" so that would leave NZ2501,02,03,05 I wish I could be of more assistance Shane

No. 2 (BR) Squadron was posted to Gisborne on rest in 1944, so the bomber SU will be their's. I have not got the details with me but could give more when I get to them (in a few weeks)
Since I posted this thread I discovered I have all the info I wanted in a document I photographed at Wigram last year. It's written by David Duxbury so will be spot on. Again I don't have it with me.
