hahaha yep thats the one, I still cant get used to the look of those tail fins, we're going to be operating right up to the deadline with the standard fin, only because I have 4 brand new surplus ones sitting in my shed, also I was wondering does anyone have a pic of EMK when Mark Clayton used to own it, when it was white and blue with the bird on the tail. im wanting to get some ideas for a new paint job for CMZ.. but may just stay with the good old James colurs (must be nearly the only fletcher in Nz still in the Red white and black??? )

Hi Rik - The rego of the model one is DBZ, a few pics of it on the modelling part of the forum under 1/20 Fletcher FU24-950 kitset around page 7 and 11. Also is a clip on youtube. Although now include rivets and panelines and tail assembly and tailcone is part of fuse now. No worries with making you one.
I reckon that would look quite cool as a new paint scheme for CMZ in red and Black. But Also the James scheme does look great aswell!
Cheers. Alan

NZS at Pudding Hill. Old style panel in NZS. More modern style in EUF and EML, Southair mod, looks tidier with more room IMHO.

Thanks for the heads up on the modelling part of the forum Alan, man you guys have built some wicked looking fletchers very very impressive, Mikes 300 will be something to look for, I really like your 400 kit tho, and when time and $$ permit I'll be getting 3 of them and perhaps a 300 (as a memorium for CMG) think I'll have to get one for dad for his birthday, Im currently building an R/C 400 but its going on the back burner now. Yea Iv been agonising over paint jobs for a while now and each time I keep coming back to the good old James paint scheme, I used to give dad greif bout the logo every time we took a fin off to paint it, saying to him that it didn't bear any relevance to the business and to get rid of it, his words were if you buy it you paint it how you like, and now its mine I think I want to the logo .. I'd love to track down some pics of CMZ as a 300 if I could but iv never seen any, not sure any exist.

According to the chief engineer at Southair, they have that mod approved for the Fletcher? Granted, it looks exactly like the Cresco panel, but so does the panel on the Stallion, which is the Air Pasture approved mod from Stallion Conversions Australia. Whatever, I'm no expert on the subject, just going on what I have been told.

Thank you Furyfb11 for the picture of EMK. I was working on it in 1994 at Aero Support.

Just going on what my old boss told me and he was co owner in The Aerial Sowing Group. Dont matter anyway. Reason why they did that conversion to the panels was to make all the turbine in the Aerial Sowing fleet all the same so a pilot can jump into another plane and the set up will be the same.

iflylo, the 300 in Fiji would have been BHO,we had it off rebuild at Naseby, put a few ton in CMG, I think John Mc Donald flew it at Oamaru with Central. John survived a crash in a 300 while flying around in fog and hit the debris slope below a lime cliff, they say the big trusses under the cockpit and engine would stand 25 gs

No question they are identical, maybe they purchased the approval, mod etc off PAC at some stage. Anyway it looks good.
