XLG when new with Hallett Griffin. It is now at Taupo having been swapped with Cresco SDT. Guy Stevenson in JPU when used on trials for topdressing. Last heard that this XL was sitting at Napier hopperless. XLE brand new at Farmers Air Gisborne February 9 2009 SDF at Taupo February 14 2009

Not sure about SDT Colin, I know it now has a hopper in it and is being used topdressing. Can't remember where I got this one from, an attempted hi-jacking gone wrong thanks to the pilots efforts.

In fairness, they're no oil painting exactly are they?

Surfing the TV yesterday and briefly watched a little bit of that show Mythbusters, and the show included a couple of jumps from a 750 XL with US rego N750D

The aircraft doesnt have to be an oil painting as long as the oil stays pumping round the engine so it does its job? It has a very long nose doesnt it.

I notice they've gone back to a Thrush type intake rather than the intake up the front with the lips.

That's an Andy Stevenson designed modification to allow for more air intake.

Pretty much looks like the same type of intake currently used on the Cresco, which is no surprise given they use the same engine.
