One of these has been operating out of Whenuapai lately. Was doing circular moves near where they usually drop parachutists yesterday am just taken off towards south then flown northwards. As I write has disgorged 5 parachutists!Has the airforce got one on trial?? Guess other poss is the Cresco ex Parakai but Idont think its that.Is there still one there anyway??Could a fleet of these be our contribution to a new Korean conflict? Latter is said tongue in cheek so no one gets upset.

I think SDF? at Parakai is an XL750 that was originally at Taupo. Far as I know the only Cresco currently on Para ops is at Queenstown, listed for sale recently.

The 750? is back flying from Whenuapai again at 1015 today. It is painted white and appears to have some black lettering under both wings. My guess is its one from PAC'S stock at Rukuhia.Maybe Ykato can tell us if one is awol?

What are those things poking out from the wing tips?? Is that long one out the stern some sort of new arrestor hook..LoL Could come in handy for a very short ag strip.

Those additions are nothing new, they are for aerial survey work. Depending on what is being surveyed the wing tip probes can survey two tracking lines rather than one from the tail. I think it's the first aircraft of the Fletcher/Cresco/750XL family to be fitted out as a survey aircraft in New Zealand.
This aircraft must be ZK-KCI, unusual as had a four blade prop which is usually used on para machines. Hopefully the world is aerial survey work is picking up again.

Cresco ZK-LTP was the first in NZ to be fitted as a survey aircraft, Followed by XL's XLA, FNZ, JBC, SWA, XLB. Others have also been done in Australia they are Fletchers, VH-CYU, VHP, UTR Cresco VH-KPY 750XL VH-TEQ. There may also be others they are just off the top of my head.
