Very sad to read that news. Ossie James was a true NZ aviation character. His contribution to agricultural flying was immense.

What a great loss to NZ aviation. A real pioneer and a nice bloke as well. RIP Ossie.

Ossie's funeral was covered well on 3 News tonight. There was a flypast of three Crescos, and the church was packed. The report stated he was still involved in local avaiation up till the end, saying he was behind the AvEx expo that is to take place at Mystery Creek in October.
Something I never knew was he was also the guy who started the National Agricultural Fieldays at Mystery Creek.
I seriously think Hamilton Airport should erect a statue of Ossie.

..or rename the airport the Ossie James Airport.
