I've just had the BEST experience when ordering from Modelcrafts and Hobbies. As detailed before here, I'm building a 1/48 Spitfire and wanted to do it up in 485 Sqn insignia. These guys were recommended to me by you guys on this here forum here, so I did a bit of a browse through their site, picked out what I thought were appropriate decal sheets and fired off an email with a few questions. Well, what a response! I got an email back the very next morning telling me exactly what I needed, what colours they should be, and how much it would all cost. I then jumped on the site and tried to order them - but one of the items turned out to be not in stock. I then got ANOTHER email from Mike saying he had that decal sheet in his personal collection, and would send it to me at no cost!!! So I just want to say that I'm extremely impressed with them - SOO much more helpful and friendly than my local store whose response was "no we don't have any, I could order some but not until after the New Year". I won't be going back there for any supplies again! So I HIGHLY recommend these guys, if you didn't already know about them. Their website is www.modelcraftsandhobbies.co.nz, and they are extremely easy, fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Disclaimer: I don't work for them, I'm just a very very happy customer Matt

This is good. I think its very easy to mumble about businesses that are below par, but we don't hear enough feedback about people going the extra mile in customer service. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, and I hope M&H benefit from that. Good on them!

MCH have always been good to me, Mike and co. are always quick to respond to emails regarding obscure kits. In fact just yesterday I asked Mike about the possibility of acquiring a Heller CL-215 kit for my good lady Rachel, so hard-to-get I can't even get one from eBay - and we can expect it in the first few days of the New Year. Pretty cool huh?

What is this chap Mike's last name? I am wondering if it's the same Mike that used to run Modelair in Auckland, and had prior to that run a mail order model business from his home when he was a soldier at Waiouru. He was very good to deal with.

Ah right. I think from memory the chap I was thinking of was Mike Butler. I wonder what became of him.
