I noticed that there have been a few new model releases that should spark some interest here. First of all the artwork has been released for the upcoming Airfix 1/144 Boeing 737-200 in an Air New Zealand scheme. The artwork itself is quite evocative. Also a Czech company called Profiline are releasing a series of MD-500 (D/E/520 NOTAR and a D with floats) as well as a scale trailer. I see there is a lot of interest in this make on the civil aviation board (Well I can't actually say this is for Zac exclusively ) and these all look good. Anyway, happy modelling in 2011 for all who aim to clear the workbench (That is myself and the fletcher )

I was told the other day that Wingnut Wings has just released six new kits, including a Gotha bomber!

The Airfix 737 is I think a re-release but wonderful news with ANZ decals! I'd prefer NAC myself though.
I have read good things about the Profiline 500s they look great, although I think I'll wait til they bring out the models in 1/48 (apparently this is the plan!). Would love a C model though.

The Airfix 737 is I think a re-release but wonderful news with ANZ decals! I'd prefer NAC myself though. I think there are both aftermarket AirNZ and NAC decals already out there for that kit, but it is nice to see a mainstream manufacturer thinks they are interesting enough to include as a box option. The kit itself is a pretty old moulding, from 1969 or so IIRC, but I haven't heard anything terrible about it, so it might be one of their better oldies.

Airfix also have a Tomahawk (P-40B) and a Stringbag coming out, both in 72nd and both new toolings.
Not specifically Kiwi related but Kiwi aircrew with the RAF and the FAA flew both.

Wow, a 1/48th Ventura would be awesome! I wonder if they'll include any RNZAF schemes in the kit. I'd love to make a couple of Venturas in that scale, ones flown by crew memebrs I have met.

There are rumours (again) of MPM doing a 1/48 Beaufort this year as well
