Wouldn't the banner on this forum of a yellow fieldair lodestar ZK-BVE show that it wasn't the only one? or was BVE painted this colour at a later date?

Be careful about believing whats on the banners of this forum ( although you may be right - I really dont know ) . Daves a bit of a expert with "photo shop " etc , so banners may show more what looks good , than what actually was .

BVE was definitely in that colour scheme (as per banner) at MOTAT when I saw it in 1983, but I don't know whether it arrived there like that or whether it was painted in the yellow scheme after it was retired.

It was in Airland NZ colours which from memory was a white top with a red band and a grey underneath that. It was painted in Fieldair colours as that who presented it to MoTaT. I have photos of it at home sonewhere which I will post next week as I am away on holiday at the moment.

I have not photoshopped that banner photo, apart from a sharpen form the original and cropped to fit the banner, it's just as taken by my Dad in the 1980's.

After a quick Google search it turns out ZK-BVE did serve with fieldair before being merged into airland. whether it was ever in the yellow markings as it was painted at MOTAT i'm not too sure

It was in yellow when it belly landed in 1969 , I remember this distinctly as my father was the pilot. BUV I recall was also yellow

My memory tells me CMX was yellow. Got a feeling I've seen a shot of her on here somewhere but can't locate one.
I never saw CGV but from her date of w/o as 1971 I'd expect she was yellow too.

I've got a photo of BVE at Motat in Red markings - taken mid 70's, I think. I'll scan and post it tomorrow

I can't see how BVE was yellow in 1969, the first photo below is at Palmerston North 29/10/1970 CGV was never yellow, Ray Misson said it was still Red/grey when it went "swimming" in 1971. CMX was also never yellow, as the photo taken weeks before the fatal flight shows

BVE was written off in 12/69 after the accident, so the date on the photo in 1970 is either incorrect, or it was painted this scheme for the ferry flight to MOTAT> I could be wrong though

I think my photo is about 1973 and it's still in Airland markings. It was painted yellow later when they moved it to Meola Rd, I think.....

I've had an e-mail from Bob Allen. He ferried BVE from Palmerston North to Whenuapai November 2nd 1970, still in Airland's red/grey scheme. He says it was never painted yellow. He flew all the way with the undercarriage down, in case it malfunctioned when landing. It was a slow trip and after passing over Manukau Heads, the Radio Transmitter decided to go on the blink. No fun joining 2 Hercules in the circuit with no Radio!!. After landing and getting out, Bob gave the aircraft a thorough "kicking".........this was their last encounter.
