Its being happening overseas for some time now & I 'spose it was inevitable it was going to happen here but Klear has had its day in New Zealand. In this thread www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=223467&hl= on ARC Forums a fellow kiwi Chris Heeley quotes an email received Nov last year from a SC Johnson customer services rep that says Klear has been deleted from the product range, no replacement planned. So if Klear is your thing & it has become mine, grab what you see while you can. Steve.

I had a mate bring me over a bottle when he came to stay with us last year so that should last me awhile.
They have Pledge One Go here which is possibly the same thing although I haven't used it yet.
Sorry to hear they've binned it, bloody fantastic stuff.

I've never got into the habit of using it, tried it on a Matchbox Provost I bashed into a Winjeel and wasn't satisfied with the semigloss finish, so I may have a bottle lying around if anyone wants it.

I'd be keen on that, I find the stuff excellent to use. I know Feilding Write Price had four or five bottles last time I was in there, down on a lower shelf. They'd been there forever and I'd vaguely thought about buying one, but never seemed to remember when I was actually in the shop. Not much use to me now I'm in Auckland through!

Why has it been discontinued? Not enough people buying it due to better modern floor coverings? Or is a chemical ingrdient no longer available or perhaps now deemed too dangerous?

for those that live in or near Hamilton, go and see Waikato Cleaning Supplies in King St in Hamilton. He stocks a floor polish called Vectra that is the schizz - it's milky white in the bottle, but dries fast to a clear glossy finish. You can airbrush it straight from the bottle, but you need to wipe the surface down first as it doesn't like fingerprints.

Would it be legal for me to post it?

Why has it been discontinued? Not enough people buying it due to better modern floor coverings? Or is a chemical ingrdient no longer available or perhaps now deemed too dangerous? I suspect that it is more to do with the size of the market and rationalisation of product lines for a single production line servicing the markets of two countries. Klear has not been available in Australia since 2002 (they have a similar product, but not with the same properties as Klear. I used to send bottles to a couple of Aus modeling friends who didn't like the stuff in Aus), yet the Klear here in NZ is/was manufactured in Australia. The bottle even had Aus consumer contact phone numbers as required by law for product produced in Australia:- remember this was not for sale in Australia. So the plant in Australia was producing a product for a small market in another country that it didn't sell in it's own country. NZ will now be being treated as part of the Australian market and having the one product range as dictated by the larger market. Makes economic sense for the manufacturer.

Auckland, huh? Would it be legal for me to post it? It's not flammable or a compressed gas so i don't see why not.
