Slightly OT, a while back I built models of a KA-50 and a KA-25, those rotorheads are damned fiddly in 1:72!

Yes the sound to me was different to any other helo I've heard in NZ. When it flew into woodbourne I heard what first sounded like an Iroquois, but I could sense a difference. When I went outside it still sounded a bit like an Iroquois, although a bit quieter, with less thump and a slightly higher beat.

You even managed to catch the beacon in that shot Gavin. One of the Ardmore based helicopter instructors was acting as their onboard "guide" for want of a better word, and actually got the opportunity to fly it for a little while. It certainly sounded like he enjoyed the experience!
