Any of the Australian based contributors going to Wings over Illawarra (near Wollongong) on Sunday. If so drop by the Illawarra Plastic modellers stand (located in the one of the hangars) and say hi

Hi Calum, I will be heading down from Sydney for the day. I will come visit (I wouldn't miss the modelling section anyway) and say hi.
Cheers Mike.

Had planned to as still yet to see the Connie. However, the drive home on the Sunday night would stuff me up for a big week of work so I'm getting ready to turn green when the pics start flooding in.

Would love to be there to get away from the earthquakes here! This weekend is 20 years exactly since Calum and I were posted to Nowra with 2 Squadron - hard to believe it has been 20 years! Back in the good old days the A-4s would have done a display at the show.

Yesterday I ventured down to Albion Park Rail to see the WOI airshow being held at the Illawarra Regional Airport. Conditions weren't the greatest, it was overcast and humid, however the distraction of flying machines meant that this was soon forgotten. It was great to meet Calum as well, the IPMS Illawarra chapter certainly have some decent modellers in their midst. Anyway, onto the pictures One for Graeme, I will send more on the beaver to you. The De Havilland Australia Drover and Twin Pioneer are a very unique pair! Skycranes are revered for what they do in the bushfire season, fortunately quiet on that front... Familiar sight and sound from this one RAAF MkVIII spitfire, originally restored by Col Pay, now based at Temora Some Lockheed thing, maybe Dave would know what type... ;D Personal bias towards dung dusters, but a long lost Ceres has reappeared and been donated to HARS.

More again... building up to the finale ;D Black Cat, new nose turret and blisters recently added. My Grandfather was flying one of these at 20 years of age. F/A18 dropped by... definitely heard it but the camera didn't shoot it too well Dave can photoshop these with RNZAF roundels later And Connie, the star, flag ship and glamour girl of the organisation and show Well worth a visit, Calum had a nice looking camera with him, hopefully he got some really good shots he can add later. Cheers!

Thanks Dave, unfortunately I didn't grab a shot of the models . Very strange for someone with my interest in the subject I know! Hopefully Calum or one of the IPMS Illawarra guys did, there were certainly a nice spread of skyhawks on show.
