You could win a flight on the Westpac Rescue Helicopter just by attending!

Kids, dress up as your favourite emergency service and be in to win spot prizes. Adults, learn more about your local emergency services, including a Civil Defence stand to help you get prepared and get your questions answered.

I like the idea of "flying" the ARHT sim! That would be wicked!

I remember seeing somewhere that the TET crew would have an open day either later this month or early next to show off the new Power. Will have to try and get time off.

Two years ago my daughter won the colouring-in competition at the Hamilton open day and we scored a ride in the rescue helicopter for our whole family. The Bell 222 was down for major maintenance so we went in a Squirrel instead. Loren, the pilot, said the Squirrel was actually a better machine for the joy-riding anyway.
We took off from the hospital pad, flew out over the lake and down the river, then hovered by my daughter's school where she got to wave to her classmates.
Very good fun.

Loren's a good guy, used to fly "Huey's in 'nam" errr, no actually Blackhawks in Afganistan!! He gets a kick out of us calling his ride the "mighty mighty triple two".

Thought the Auckland one would be at Whenapai where they could bring in all the rescue choppers, and even show off a Herk and Boeing set up in AME
